Boxes follow the same color code as in phylogenetic trees (Figures 2 and 3): cnidarians are in blue, lophotrochozoans are in purple, ecdysozoans are in orange and deuterostomians are in green. Physical linkages between Hes/Hey-related genes are found in each of these major lineages, with two to six clustered genes.
