Bayesian majority rule consensus tree of the first intron of the nuclear PISTILLATA ( PI ) gene in Lepidium . Four PI clades previously identified from a number of taxa within the genus are denoted as A-D (after [5]). Clade ‘A’ is not monophyletic in our study, and new clades identified by our study are denoted as A1 to A2. Sequences from Lepidium taxa that were generated in our study are in bold and indicated by a colored dot: L. kirkii (yellow), L. naufragorum (purple), L. sisymbrioides (red), L. tenuicaule (green). Four PI copies from L. sisymbrioides are indicated by arrows. Posterior probabilities ≥0.90 and maximum likelihood bootstrap values >50% are displayed above and below branches, respectively.
