Molecular phylogeny of cyclostome retinoic acid receptors (RARs). The maximum likelihood tree was inferred with 144 amino acid sites and visualized using FigTree (version 1.4.2), which specified the root of the tree using the midpoint root function. Bootstrap support values (percentages ranging from 0 to 100) are indicated only for crucial nodes. The arrow highlights the position of the gene duplication giving rise to the lamprey rar1 and rar4 genes.
