VP16 and Engrailed repressor domain (EnR) fused to Nkx6.1 HD were used as positive and negative controls, respectively. The means are depicted by a horizontal bar, red indicates a significant difference compared to control (p < 0.01 using both Kolmogorov–Smirnov and Mann–Whitney tests), and green indicates no significant difference. Both RDs behave as Groucho-dependent transcriptional repressors, whereas the Cter domain has no transcriptional activity in this assay
