The external cell layer (ecl) includes extremely thin cytoplasmic extensions (arrow) and is separated by an inconspicuous myocoel (black asterisk) from the myotome (mt). The myoblasts of the myotome contain myofilament bundles (white asterisks). Scale bar = 1 μm
